Obituary for Barbara Lindemulder-Walker (Abbink)

LINDEMULDER-WALKER, Barbara A. (nee Abbink) 79 of Belvedere, NJ, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2021. She was born in Hackensack to Herman and Jessie (Wissekerke) Abbink and raised in Hawthorne prior to her marriage to Jelle (Jerry) Lindemulder. Barbara raised her family in Midland Park, later moving to West Milford and has lived in Belvidere for the last 10 years.

Before her retirement in 2003, Barbara was employed as a claims representative for Amica Insurance in Glen Rock, NJ. She had a varied employment history including a secretarial position prior to her marriage in 1962, later a nursing assistant at the Christian Health Care Center in Wyckoff. She also worked at the Nut House in Paramus, the Belmont Bakery in North Haledon and as an assistant manager of a shoe store in West New York.

Barbara’s greatest joy in life was her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister. She will be greatly missed by her loving family.

Barbara was predeceased by her husband, Jerry Lindemulder in 1971. She leaves behind her adoring children, Jacquelyn Reid and her husband Wayne of Hewitt, Lauren Martin of Bloomingdale, and Jerry Lindemulder and his wife Gabriela of Bethlehem Township, and her dear friend Wayne Borawski of Belvidere. Grandmother to her 7 grandchildren, Danielle Seidler, Jerry Pachtinger, Jennifer Martin, Zachary Martin, Tiffany Martin, Jerry Lindemulder and Jacob Lindemulder, and 3 great grandchildren Logan Seidler, Lianna Seidler and Madison Seidler. Beloved sister of Henry Abbink of California.

Barbara’s family will receive family and friends at the Vander Plaat – Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes, NJ on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, from 4-8 PM. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 13, 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Fair Lawn Memorial Cemetery.
