Obituary for Americo Cillo

Americo Cillo, 85, on December 16, 2020 of Franklin Lakes. Americo was born in Cervinara, Italy a dual citizen, and came to the United States in 1951 to declare his citizenship. He settled in the Bronx, and earned a reputation as one of the finest stone setter for the Local 84 BAC. His proudest work was on the original World Trade Center, where he worked for 11 years. He moved to Demarest, NJ in 1980 and Franklin Lakes in 1996, where he became a parishioner of Most Blessed Sacrament Church.

Americo was the devoted husband to Maria (Lombardi) Cillo for 59 years. Beloved father of Angelo Cillo and his fiancé Angie Tartaglione of Alpharetta Ga, Antoinette Mandel and her husband Ross of Oakland, NJ, and John Cillo and his wife Melissa of Lehigh Acres Fl. Loving grandfather of Matthew Cillo, Rebecca Kirschbaum and Marthia Cillo; Adoring great grandfather to Amelia Kirschbaum.
Family and friends may visit at the Vander Plaat – Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes on Saturday from 2-6 PM. Funeral mass at St. Elizabeth’s RC Church, 700 Wyckoff Ave., Wyckoff, NJ on Monday 11:30 AM. Entombment to follow at Mary Rest Cemetery, Mahwah, NJ.
