Ademira Shoemaker (Longobardo) of Suisun City, CA went home to be with Jesus, on Palm Sunday April 5, 2020 at the age of 90. Originally a resident of NJ, she was born in Fairview and grew up in East Paterson. She later lived in the Totowa and Stony Road sections of Paterson and North Haledon NJ, before moving to both Fairfield and Suisun City, Northern CA in 2003.
Ademira was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be missed dearly by her four children, Lorraine Grimmett and her husband Mike of Fairfield, CA, Barry Shoemaker and his wife June of Wayne, NJ, Janet Zaloum and her husband Gary and their children Adam, Raina, Hope, Naomi, and Jeremiah (Jeremy) from North Haledon, NJ and Nancy Shoemaker and her son Alexander (Alex) of Suisun City, CA. To her many nieces and nephews, she was known as Auntie Ann but Ann, Addie, Ad and Ademira to friends.
Ademira was a single Mom who tirelessly worked two jobs to provide for her family. During this time, she worked as a telephone operator, in textiles and nursing home facilities. She was kind, merciful and spoke well of people. Although she did not have much, mom touched the hearts of many with her extravagant generosity. Ademira was compassionate and loved all animals, especially her childhood dog Bimbo and all cats. She cherished spending time with her family, caring for her grandchildren, reading, dancing, singing, listening to Sinatra / Rat pack, 50’s & country music, westerns, doing jigsaw and search-a-word puzzles. Mom loved coffee, ice cream, and all sweets.
Ademira was preceded by both of her parents, Raffaela (Raphala Ragosta) and Alexander Longobardo and all her siblings, Michele (Michael-Italy), Rose Marie (RoRo), Ercole (Eddie), Nancy and Vincent (Vin).
