Obituary for John Robert DeLuca

DELUCA, John Robert – 91, of Franklin Lakes passed away on September 19, 2013. Born and raised in New York City, he graduated Manhattan College in 1948 and then earned a Masters (MS) from Colombia University in 1949. He served in the Army Air Corps. during World War II. He married Rosemarie A. LaSala in 1954 and they lived primarily in Westchester County New York before moving to Franklin Lakes, New Jersey in 1968.

John worked as a financial executive before retiring in 1990. He was a past member of the American Management Association. After his retirement he spent much of his time helping is wife Rosemarie with her Antiques business. He had a work shop in the basement where he enjoyed wood working and restorations well into his retirement. He was a past member of St. Peter and Paul R.C. Church in Mount Vernon, New York was a parishioner of Most Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church in Franklin Lakes.

Beloved husband of 59 years of Rosemarie A. (nee LaSala) DeLuca of Franklin Lakes. Devoted father of Elaine Knorr and her husband Tim, Nora DeBellis and her husband Joseph, Mark DeLuca and his wife Joan, Brian DeLuca and John F. DeLuca. Loving grandfather of Christopher, Kathleen, Julianne, Andrew, Emily, Steven and Zachary. Dear brother of Katherine Reda and her husband Louis of Pompano, Florida and pre-deceased by his brothers, Louis and Sam DeLuca and his sisters, Carol Palmieri and Rafael (Fan) DeLuca.

Funeral Services Tuesday 10:30 am at Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes followed by a 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at Most Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church. Entombment Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah. The family will receive family and friends on Monday from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 pm at the funeral home.
